CRAFTS I 1878 .5 CREDIT GRADES 9-12
Crafts I is a beginner level course designed to give students exposure to many different materials and techniques. Through demonstrations and ample time to practice what they learn, students will engage in exploring aspects of plaster, metals, paper, textiles, and other similar art materials. This hands-on class is fast-paced and includes many different tools and techniques. Bookbinding, metals, weaving, felting, and sculpture are typical fields of exploration in this course. Students should be prepared to focus and produce finished craft items through hard work and sustained effort.
* Passing this course, in conjunction with Art Foundations, satisfies the Fine Art requirement for graduation and allows a student to select additional art courses including: Art II, Crafts, II, Photo I, and Ceramics.
