PHOTOGRAPHY II 1856 .5 CREDIT GRADES 10-12 Prerequisite: Successful completion of Photography I
Photography II, a semester long course, is an advanced version of Photography I. In this course you will be taught ways to improve composition, creativity, technical control of the negative and print, and presentation. Students learn new ways to manipulate the negative and print using darkroom techniques. The digital camera, enhancing and manipulating photographs on the computer, will be seriously introduced. A variety of options for subject matter are given. Photographic motivations (aesthetic, documentary, analytical and commercial) are explored plus written research on photographic areas and photographers will be required. Criticism and analysis are incorporated throughout the course. A portfolio of photographs is required at the end of the semester. Successful completion of Photography I and teacher recommendation is needed to sign up for this course.
